At Capa Esculturas we have been accompanying artists, institutions and galleries for almost a century, from the first sketch to the final installation. But what exactly is an artistic foundry and what role does it play in the art world? <\/p>\n\n

What is an artistic foundry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

An artistic foundry is much more than a metal workshop: it is a creative, technical and artisanal space where sculptural ideas take physical form. In this type of foundry, projects are developed with a unique approach, where every detail matters. Here, works of art are born from physical models, sketches or digital files, and transformed into durable sculptures, usually in materials such as bronze, aluminium, brass or highly corrosion-resistant types of stainless steel. <\/p>\n\n

It is neither a simple technical reproduction nor an automated process. Artistic casting requires a combination of aesthetic sensitivity, technical precision and a profound knowledge of sculptural language. Each step of the process is adapted to the expressive needs of the artist, taking care of textures, proportions, finishes and patinas with an almost surgical dedication. <\/p>\n\n

Unlike an industrial foundry, whose main objective is the mass production of functional or mechanical parts, an artistic foundry works with unique works or limited series. This work ensures that relevant works are not lost and can be enjoyed by new generations. Digital backup copies are even generated to ensure their future preservation. <\/p>\n\n

Artistic foundries are a fundamental pillar in the development of large-scale cultural projects.
