This will be the 23rd edition of a tournament, which after its expansion to two weeks in 2021, has grown a lot, to position itself as one of the most important events in the calendar of this sport, both in the ATP Master 1000<\/strong> and WTA 1000<\/strong> circuit. With its avant-garde architecture and its ability to adapt to matches, the tennis tournament in Madrid will be held in the Caja M\u00e1gica, where the best tennis players on the planet will once again be welcomed. <\/p>\n\n

The Mutua Madrid Open 2025: two weeks of tennis in the Caja M\u00e1gica<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Madrid venue will host the biggest names in world tennis<\/strong> for 14 days. Designed by Dominique Perrault, the sports complex has 3 mobile indoor tennis courts that allow the competition to be adapted to any weather conditions. <\/p>\n\n

The favorite tennis players to conquer the Mutua Trophy 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

In the men’s draw<\/strong>, Alexander Zverev<\/strong> arrives as number one in the ranking, followed by Carlos Alcaraz<\/strong>, two-time Mutua Madrid Open champion in 2022 and 2023. They are joined by players such as Novak Djokovic<\/strong>, Taylor Fritz<\/strong> and Andrey Rublev<\/strong>, the last champion of the tournament. <\/p>\n\n

In the women’s category<\/strong>, Aryna Sabalenka<\/strong> and Iga Swiatek<\/strong> lead the list of favorites, along with Coco Gauff<\/strong>, Jessica Pegula<\/strong>, and Madison Keys<\/strong>. Since 2022, the Mutua Madrid Open trophy<\/strong> has borne the signature of sculptor and friend David Rodr\u00edguez Caballero<\/a><\/strong>. In his fourth collaboration with the tournament, the artist has opted for a piece of contemporary art, classic symbolism and sporting essence<\/strong>. This year, the trophy is called \u201cKineo\u201d<\/strong>, a work that stands out for its rounded but irregular shape, evoking the dynamism and energy that characterize tennis. <\/p>\n\n

Rodr\u00edguez Caballero himself, the sculptor of the trophy, explains that \u201cKineo\u201d<\/strong> means \u201cmovement\u201d<\/strong> in ancient Classical Greece, which refers to the dynamism inherent in tennis and the way athletes move on the court.<\/p>\n\n

The sculpture was designed based on the volumetry of a sphere, which evokes the shape of a tennis ball<\/strong>, one of the most symbolic elements of this sport. Through a structure of three-dimensional folds, David Rodr\u00edguez Caballero<\/strong> has managed to create multiple spaces within the piece, providing a visual and emotional impact to the viewers. <\/p>\n\n

The manufacture of the Kineo Trophy in Capa Sculptures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Kineo trophy is produced by Capa Esculturas, a Spanish foundry<\/strong> specializing in artistic sculpture and metalwork<\/strong>. Unlike previous editions, where cast iron was used, this time the piece is created from meticulously cut, welded and sanded stainless steel sheets. The process involves a series of steps such as cutting the steel sheets, welding the pieces, cleaning the welds, sanding to obtain a smooth surface, and final patination to give it the desired look. <\/p>\n\n

The metalwork <\/strong>makes it possible to create a lighter sculpture, with precise details and a dynamic shape that reflects the spirit of tennis. Thanks to this production process, the Kineo trophy<\/strong> acquires a unique presence, with a robust structure and refined aesthetics. In addition, details have been incorporated to visually enhance the piece, giving it an elegant and modern finish. <\/p>\n\n

A tennis trophy turned into a work of art<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Mutua 2025 Trophy<\/strong> is not just an award. It is a sculpture 42 centimeters high, made of stainless steel<\/strong>, with interior planes that play with light and emptiness. The base has been eliminated to make the piece more compact, making it easier to lift during the award ceremony and more directly connected to the gesture of victory. <\/p>\n\n
